Nike has unveiled the collection of apparel and footwear that US Olympians will be wearing when they hit the medal stand at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
For the first time Nike will offer three distinct outfits to be worn on the medal stand by athletes from different sports. A contemporary approach to classic silhouettes, combined with soulful details, some of which are only visible to the athlete, finish the look as they celebrate their victory.
“The medal stand is a pinnacle moment for these athletes,” said Global Olympic Creative Director, Martin Lotti. “The world is watching and we want to make sure the athlete looks and feels good in celebration of their achievement.”

Nike 21st C. Windrunner – Modeled after a sportswear staple, the Windrunner is detailed with a trademark V-shaped chevron across the chest, dotted with ventilation perforations across the back and finished off with a hyper reflective shell that burns bright under the most subtle lights. Serving function and aesthetic, The “United States of America” is applied with precision laser technology, while the lower back is detailed with 50 perforations — one for each state. A badge on the inside of the jacket, placed over the heart reads “Team USA.”
Nike Flyknit Trainer – A departure from the way Nike has produced footwear for the past 40 years, the new Nike Flyknit Trainer combines the minimalist DNA of a sock with strength and durability. The revolutionary upper is knitted using yarn and fabric variations for a formfitting and virtually seamless shoe that weighs only 7.7 ounces.

Nike MKll Jacket – Inspired by Nike-designed warm-up jackets for Brazil’s national soccer team, the Nike MKII Jacket features a lean silhouette and satin finish. A crafted stand-up collar gives the jacket an elegant, formal feel while reflective piping on the sleeve calls attention to the American flag badge on the left arm.
Nike AF1 – The first ever basketball shoe to feature Nike Air-Sole units for cushioning, the AF1 was originally released in 1982. Thirty years after its birth, the footwear icon is modernized with a reflective upper to celebrate the medal stand look. Inscribed on the left and right foot insole reads “land of the free,” and “home of the brave” respectively.

Nike Varsity Bomber Classic – The Nike Varsity Bomber Classic is Nike’s homage to a classic American style piece — the varsity letterman’s jacket. A brushed cotton canvas construction provides a durable look while Nike Dri-FIT incorporated with the denim adds breathability and comfort.
