Informed by Nike’s Breaking2 project, an innovation to break the two-hour marathon barrier, the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%, Nike Zoom Fly and Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 introduce a new future for running.
Designed to improve the efficiency of all runners — from world-class marathoners to those training for their first distance test — this trio of racing and training shoes redefines the look and feel of fast running.
NIKE ZOOM VAPORFLY 4%
Introduced in the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite, the Nike ZoomX midsole redefines the look, feel and performance of speed. And when combined with an embedded full-length carbon plate, Nike ZoomX midsole provides an innovative system for responsive cushioning which is designed to maximize speed and deliver greater energy return.
The bold, performance-driven design of the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% makes runners 4% more efficient compared to Nike’s previous fastest marathon shoe. An aerodynamic heel counter highlights the shoe’s aesthetic. A Nike Flymesh upper with midfoot dynamic archband provides zero distraction containment. The carbon fiber plate is tuned to minimize energy loss during toe bend without increasing demand for the calf. Finally, the Nike ZoomX midsole provides cushioning over every stride to return energy for push off. The result is a racing shoe built for the exact needs of world-class marathoners.
NIKE ZOOM FLY
The Nike Zoom Fly applies the principles of the game-changing Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite to a shoe that is fast enough for race day, yet durable enough for everyday training. Ultra-lightweight, soft and highly resilient Lunarlon foam creates a light, responsive underfoot experience, while an embedded full-length carbon infused nylon plate increases stiffness. A high abrasion rubber in the heel for durability completes the tooling. The upper is comprised of Nike Flymesh with midfoot dynamic Nike Flywire for lightweight containment.
Additionally, the Nike Zoom Fly’s 10mm offset is designed to minimize Achilles strain and the 33mm stack height ensures impact protection mile after mile.
NIKE AIR ZOOM PEGASUS 34
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 marries Nike Zoom Air units in the forefront and heel to premium Cushlon ST foam. This synergistic approach provides soft cushioning balanced with a supportive, responsive underfoot feel. The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34’s updated Flymesh upper employs translucent monofilament yarn for lightweight containment and ventilation. The radiused heel tapers on the lateral side to promote a natural range of motion.
The Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%, Nike Zoom Fly and Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 release June 8, in lead colorways inspired by the speed and elegance of auto racing at Monza, at Nike.com and through select retailers.
