Portland and cycling go hand and hand so with that being said, Nike will be providing bikes to the city apart of a project known as BIKETOWN. Some of the brands most iconic sneakers like the Air Max 95, Air Trainer 1 and Air Safari will now come in the form of bikes.
No, the bikes won’t look like actual sneakers from Nike but will feature some of their elements across the bikes in wrapped form. A total of 100 bikes will be inspired by the stated Nike shoes across Portland BIKETOWN stations. Back in January 2016, the partnership between the two includes $10 million over a 10 year period. This partnership will increase the numbers of bikes apart of the Portland Bike Share Program from 600 to 1,000.
