It’s easy to forget how many signature shoes are among NBA superstar Kobe Bryant’s collection. Since he hit the scene straight out of high school, his name has been linked to sports apparel and athletic footwear by Adidas and Nike, alike. Today, we have a new edition of the Nike Zoom Kobe VIII (8), coming from sneaker artist Kickstradomis, and he’s incorporating one of the most beloved video game characters of all time in the theme. One that dates all the way back to the prehistoric era…
The Nike Zoom Kobe VIII (8) “Yoshi” customs by Kickstradomis are dominated by lime green all over the mesh uppers, with orange accents on the bottom. Every gamer knows Yoshi from his broad range of appearances in Nintendo video games, and even his own series of releases. To fully embody the qualities of Yoshi into a pair of shoes, you have to start by using his unique, lime complexion. Next, Kickstradomis applied some solid contrasting on the outsoles, by covering them in orange, another Yoshi staple. If you’ve ever been cruising down the lanes of Mario Kart, then you remember being knocked off the road by one of Yoshi’s destructive eggs, which is the green polka dot pattern on the heel guard gets its inspiration. White takes over the rest of the shoes, including the lacing and branding.
The colors green and orange work so well together, and a sneaker model like the Kobe 8’s are an excellent canvas for using the two on. What do you think of the latest customs from Kickstradomis? Check out another angle on the shoes, and hit us up in the comments section, below!
