In celebration of Breaking2, Nike’s innovation project to break the two-hour marathon barrier, Nike will release the NikeLab Zoom Fly SP — a model capturing the early prototype phase of Breaking2 footwear — with added design elements that indicate how the shoe developed.
It features a translucent, stretch-woven upper that’s lightweight and breathable, original designer sketches on the sockliner and running-focused graphics on the tongue, upper and midsole.
The NikeLab Zoom Fly SP is fast enough for race day, yet durable enough for everyday training. Ultra-lightweight, soft and highly resilient Lunarlon foam creates a light, responsive underfoot experience, while an embedded, full-length, carbon-infused nylon plate increases stiffness. A high abrasion rubber in the heel adds durability. The shoe’s 10mm offset is designed to minimize Achilles strain, and the 33-mm stack height ensures impact protection mile after mile.
