Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2 Official Images

Nina Chanel Abney, an artist born in Harvey, Illinois, and now residing in New York will connect with Jordan Brand for her first collaboration. The outcome is the Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2 collaboration.

Jordan Brand continues to give the Air Jordan 2 collaborations and this pair will release in women’s sizing. Giving her personal touch, the pair will come with a special hangtag that displays her artwork.

Her take on the model resembles that ‘Chicago’ Air Jordan 2 which is also returning in 2022. This pair is different from any other AJ 2 that has been released. For example, we have a Grey suede overlay on the toe cap which is a new addition. Red fills in the entire heel counter and lacks any of the contours that the model traditionally comes with. Perforations only stretch the length of the toe overlay.

On the base, we have Sail smooth leather while White fills in the reptile texture leather on the panels and heel. Speaking of the heel, we have a Grey suede tab with Nike branding. Across the insole, we have ‘Nina Chanel Abney’ written, the midsole has been aged for a vintage look, and Red runs across the rubber outsole.

The highlight of this pair is the hangtag. Larger than usual, it comes with a Silver picture frame while her artwork is displayed showing Michael Jordan doubled-teamed by the Lakers.

Nina Chanel Abney Air Jordan 2 Release Details

You can expect the Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2 collaboration to release at select retailers and Nike.com in women’s sizing on July 8th. The retail price is $250.
