Look, I get it; you’re all about your Retro Js. You can’t fathom being seen in a running shoe, let alone a Reebok! Well, get over it, young hypebeast, and open your eyes to the world around you! Reebok has been dropping some serious heat over the past year, in the form of the Classic Leather, the simplistic old school runner that celebrates its 30th birthday this year. Whether in the form of collabs (like the Burn Rubber “Spirit of Detroit”, for instance) or premium in-house releases, Reebok has been knocking off heads in the sneaker world, and that barbaric streak looks to continue with the upcoming HAL x Reebok Classic Leather “30th Anniversary”, set to drop this Saturday, June 15th.
Aussie sneaker spot Highs and Lows, which holds the distinction of having one of the dopest store names in the history of store names, teams up with Reebok to release this masterpiece, inspired by the interior of HAL’s flagship store. The forest green and rosewood premium nubuck represent the wallpaper and wood shelving, respectively, while gold eyelets and lacetips, and a hit of perforated leather on the toebox represent the brass fittings and leather couches.
This sneaker is available at both HAL locations this Saturday, with an online release at a date TBD.
But wait… What if we don’t live in Australia, the land of Aboriginals and tasmanian devils? Well, fear not, my American friend, as a few American spots will be dropping this dope pair of kicks this Saturday, June 15th. If your local spot or favorite online retailer has had any of the other dope “30th Anniversary” drops this year, chances are good that they might be stocking this one as well, so definitely check their sites for info. For those of you not willing to do the legwork (Legwork = Copped Kicks. Remember that, kids…), Packer Shoes in Teaneck, NJ, will be releasing this gem in-store at noon EST; any leftover stock will be released on their website later that day at 3pm.
Hit the jump for a detailed look at these Aussie head-crackers, and let us know if you’ll be looking to cop a pair this weekend!
