Even though Sir Charles last played in an NBA game in 2000, Nike continues to reward the Round Mound of Rebound with his own signature shoes, the latest being the Nike Barkley Posite Max, a hybrid that mixes the classic Nike Air Max2 CB ’94 with the Foamposite material made famous by the Nike Air Foamposite One and Pro. The shoe has been extremely well-received by the sneaker community, starting with the amazing “Area 72” rendition that released during All-Star Weekend.
Now, Nike looks to continue that winning streak with the newest iteration, the Nike Barkley Posite Max “Gamma Blue”. The shoe features a metallic silver Foamposite upper, accented with a black suede hit with a dope gamma blue splatter that’s different from any of the previous Barkley Posite Max’s we’ve seen thus far. Gamma blue is also found on the branding, including the tongue tab and heel, while the upper sits on an icy blue outsole which also features the bright blue color.
The shoe will be available at Nike retailers starting on June 1st, so be prepared if you’re planning on copping a pair, as they’ve sold well throughout the year. The hype on this pair isn’t crazy, so you should be able to cop without any problems, at places like Nike.com, Foot Locker, and Eastbay.com. Will you be copping a pair? Not a fan of the hybrid model?
