Russell Westbrook’s best season in the NBA came in 2017. That year, he won the league MVP award and became one of two players in NBA history to average a triple-double for an entire season. The only other player to achieve this was Oscar Robertson in 1962. In 2018, he was given the nickname ‘Mr. Triple Double’ and following this, Jordan Brand created the Air Jordan 3 ‘Mr. Triple Double’ PE exclusively for Westbrook.
Russell Westbrook would become the NBA All-Time leader in triple-doubles in May 2021 while playing for the Washington Wizards. He would grab his 182nd triple-double against the Atlanta Hawks, who ultimately fell to in a 125 to 124 loss.
As you can see, this Air Jordan 3 features colors reminiscent of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Utilizing White tumbled leather on the upper and his stats along the smooth leather mudguards. Next, we have perforations on the collar and tongues, ‘Why Not’ printed on the lateral midsole, while Orange and Blue detailing adorns the elephant print around the toe and heels. Other details include Westbrook’s logo on the tongues, Jumpman logos on the heels and insoles, and a translucent outsole.
Below, you can check out more photos of Russell Westbrook’s Air Jordan 3 ‘Mr. Triple Double’ PE for a closer look. This pair won’t release to the public, but if anything changes, we will make sure to update you.
