Inspired by Australia’s native Tasmanian Devil and offering a nod to the Solebox “Devil” series, Sneaker Freaker has created a special “Tassie Devil” version of the New Balance 998 as the publication continues to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a slew of footwear collabs.
Rocking shades of eggplant, violet, mauve, lilac and lavender throughout the upper, the predominately purple kicks see black suede and mesh hits with the additional use of white leather. Furthering the shoe’s theme, the kicks see a tooth graphic along the front portion of the midsole while the remainder sees black peppery speckling.
Capped off with Sneaker Freaker’s 10th anniversary logo on the footbeds, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the kicks will go to the Save The Tasmanian Devil Program as they look to fight the facial tumor disease that has wiped out nearly half of the animal’s population.
