Set to debut at retail on Black Friday, Supra has unveiled the “Vendredi Noir” edition of the Vaider Lite – a lightweight update to the original Vaider.
SUPRA is pleased to announce the release of the “Vendredi Noir” Vaider Lite. This limited edition high top was designed by the team at SUPRA Paris for Black Friday, the day after the US Thanksgiving holiday and the traditional start of the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday doesn’t exist in France, but if it did, it would be called vendredi noir and they would make a black Vaider Lite to commemorate it.
The Vendredi Noir upper is constructed of premium black pig suede and black Satin TUF with some notable French details: reflective “Paris” branded mustache, blue/white/red ribbon heel pull (redolent of the French flag) running up the back of the shoe, blue/white/red eyelets, custom aglets (“SUPRA” and “Paris” printed in reflective black ink on each end), antique crown appliqué, and below the comfy, padded black mesh lining lies a custom sock liner bearing the coat of arms of Paris.
Unlike the traditional Vaider, the Vaider Lite is constructed atop a lightweight, white SUPRAFOAM sole with striated sidewalls that prevent impact wrinkles. As another nod to the French flag, the traction pods are blue and red.
Only 500 pairs of the “Vendredi Noir” Vaider Lite were created and they will go on sale Black Friday, November 23, at SUPRA NYC, Colette, and, of course, SUPRA Paris.
