The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x adidas Superstar “Shelltoe” collaboration will release in Spring 2024 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the TMNT franchise.
Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2024, adidas will have a special collaboration. The outcome is the TMNT Superstar “Shelltoe,” which plays off the shoe’s nickname and the Ninja Turtles.
The TMNT franchise is known for its cartoons, movies, video games, and countless toys available throughout the years. However, this collection is a tribute to the comic book series by Eastman and Laird, originally published in May 1984. This single issue spawned the franchise loved by kids across the past four decades.
This adidas Superstar comes with Red accents, which some may think represents Raphael. However, in the original comic book, all the Ninja Turtles wore Red eye masks, and the only way you could tell the difference was the weapons they were holding. The base comes in Green with a textured leather finish with “SHELLTOE” in Gold on the panels. The heel branding comes in the same font as the original TMNT comic, and we have the Red eye mask lace jewels. On the inside of the tongues, we have “Ninja Power!” Lastly, the insoles come with a special all-over graphic and co-branding.
Connecting to comic book and toy collectors, the packaging features plastic on the front, just like action figures. The backing features a print of the comic book series, adding to the overall uniqueness of this collaboration.
