Originally released in 1987, the Nike Air Safari is one of the most recognizable sneakers in the Nike Sportswear archives. Sporting a Tan/Beige-Black-Charcoal colorway, the runner introduced the world to Nike’s Safari print and was unlike anything on the shelves at the time.
Reissued earlier this year, the Air Safari is the subject of the latest podcast from designer, blogger and footwear extraordinaire Brett Golliff. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic silhouette and its recent re-release, Golliff had the opportunity to interview his friend and the designer behind the kicks – the one and only Tinker Hatfield.
