As a tribute to the Miami Heat’s back-to-back championship run, Philippines-based basketball specialty concept store Titan partnered with Manila-based clothing brand PROGRESS to render the “Jesus” Capsule Collection.
Inspired by Ray Allen’s notorious character “Jesus Shuttlesworth” in the 1998 classic film He Got Game, this apparel collection offered customers limited edition items like a featured basketball jersey, hooded sweatshirts, socks, and tees, all of which display graphic messianic all-over prints and white lettering that read, “Jesus Saves”. Ironically, this phrase coincides with the idea that Ray Allen is always on time when the game really matters. That said, if you watched Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals back in June then you are well aware of Allen’s clutch game-tying 3-point shot against the Spurs where the Heat would eventually trump Parker, Ginóbili, and Duncan shortly thereafter.
