When it comes to the notoriously tough terrain of the Nike Women’s Marathon, Tricia Regan believes she has a unique advantage as a local resident. “I’m from San Freakin’-cisco,” says the 28-year old, who works in communication for an energy company. “I can push myself to conquer any hill you put in front of me!” Tricia wasn’t as enthusiastic about running while playing soccer at the University of Colorado, but later discovered the activity could provide an escape from daily stress. She loves the diverse, eclectic style of her city, and believes that training in eye-popping gear like a hot-pink tank and spandex shorts helps make workouts more effective. Besides the challenge of overcoming those hills, Tricia is also looking forward to the feminine camaraderie of the marathon. “It will be amazing to run alongside other women who are healthy and strong,” she says.
