Earlier this week we showed you an epic look at the Nike Zoom Rookie Matte Red aka Memphis Express, but today we take you even closer with a video.
Two nicknames are floating around for this Nike Zoom Rookie LWP. Matte red, due to the color used (obviously) and Memphis Express. The Memphis Express nickname came from Penny Hardaway wearing this pair during the 17th annual Tournament of the Stars Basketball Classic. His team was called the “Memphis Express”, with the shoes matching the jersey.
For the shoes we have metallic red plastered on the foamposite material, matte red on the suede (toe box area and wraps the shoes), red with flakes on the sphere, carbon fiber shank plate that bleeds into the lower midsole, translucent outsole/sole and black on the Penny and Nike logo.
A specific release date has not been announced just yet, but the Matte Red – Memphis Express Nike Zoom Rookie LWP may release in August. You can scoop your size now at KickSole.com.
